Alejandra's Story
My name is Alejandra Marissa Benitez Morales, I was born in El Salvador and raised in Honduras. I’m the middle child of three sisters.
I’m a very active person, and I love learning so as soon as I turned 18, I started volunteering with organizations involved in the educational field. In 2020 I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I’m currently studying my master’s degree in “Psychological Intervention in Development and Education”. Back in 2021 I started working as a school counselor at a private school in Honduras, and previously I worked as a special education teacher in different schools. I first started working as a teacher back in 2018 inspired by my own challenging experience as a student in my early years.
I understand how important it is to have the right support to overcome difficulties. This has helped me throughout my career as I have learned to recognize and appreciate the individual differences that each student brings to their learning process. As a teacher, I firmly believe that motivation plays a key role in both academic and personal development and try my best to create an environment where students feel understood and supported.

I consider myself empathetic, patient, and encouraging. One of the core values I consider essential in the learning process is empathy, as it allows me to connect with each student, understand their strengths and areas for growth, and help them develop strategies that they feel comfortable using to reach their goals.

Additionally, I have learned that it is crucial to foster patience and resilience, as the path to success can sometimes present challenges—challenges that, with the right support, can be overcome and turned into opportunities for personal growth.
Over the years, I have worked with students with a variety of learning styles and educational needs, which has enabled me to develop a flexible and adaptive approach. My primary goal is to inspire confidence and encourage autonomy, empowering students to take charge of their learning and reach their full potential.

In the future, I aspire to continue my studies to better understand educational processes and help as many students as possible to achieve their goals while enjoying the process as much as they can. I also would love to work sharing my experience by training other teachers.

Outside of work, I enjoy peaceful and quiet places mostly. I like watching TV series, which let me relax and escape into different stories. I love traveling with friends and family. I’m also a fan of trying out new recipes and savoring good food, whether it’s cooking at home or enjoying a meal at a local restaurant.
